Dalai Lama is the title for the spiritual leader of the Gelug or “Yellow Hat” school of Tibetan Buddhism, which is one of the major schools of Tibetan Buddhism.
The 14th Dalai Lama is Tenzin Gyatso, who came to India as a refugee in 1959.
